Re: So... Anyone else?
Any way we can see what you're working on? You've got a slew of bug catchers around here if needed.

indeed. I will check, and when found tell you that I found them and tell you how to fix it, but I won't tell you right away. I wanna make you sweat a little.

We are developing locally with a remote repository and database. I don't know if they are going to post the final projects on the server or not.
I will post some screen shots at about 10:00pm. We just found out we overlooked on of the key elements of the whole project. Oops!

Re: So... Anyone else?
Done. Completed. There is some stuff that could have been tweaked and extened, but it works.
What it was was this:
l33t hax0r n1nja
It is sort of a game puzzle thing. You create an account and get a "profile" page. It looks like crappy web page. You then create a crypto which is basically a password. When you select a word and it returns results from various web serives. You get a certain amount of results from flickr and from those you pick 3. Google returns the result descriptions and Amazon returns book reviews. (say you search for "orange", it will take the top 5 book results and return the top five reviews)
Now that you have a crypto, when another player visits your page, they have option to try and "hack" it with the "uber l33t ha><0r tool" It presents you a password box. You can guess and/or ask for clues. The clues are the results from the crypto. Like five images. You get points based on how many guesses it took, how many clues and how long. If you fail you have to wait 8 hours to try again and your highest possible score will be lower. If you succeed, you "own" their page and modify part of it and put your "tag" on it.
There are lots of stats and the strategy is pretty cool trying to get confusing results. For example the first 5 results from flickr for "rampage" are of guys in Santa outfits.
It was built modular so clues can easily be added. We had planned a slashdot and imdb module.
We coded from about 8am this morning till 10pm with out a break. My head really hurt by the end, we were having to make tough choices to make the deadline.
http://railsday.com has the repositories online. We were group 73 on the list. Team "Man Noobs". We also shot a timelapse of the effort.

Here is a list of registrants:
http://railsday.com/svn/
Only those with at least 12 checkins are qualified. I think the the final number was 60 out of 135 entries qualified (or actually competed).
We are 73 - Man Noobs.

So how do we see it in action? I followed your linkage but only got a directory listing and didn't feel like working any harder
Look at it this way: you've sold as many paintings as Van Gogh—and you have both your ears.
Thanks, Dad.

Interesting game. It seems fun but unfortunately it's got a lot of bugs on the railsday server, sometimes to the point of unplayability. Do you have your own server set up (correctly)?

Re: So... Anyone else?
it does look fun, but the errors from the server are brutal. I can't even upload a tag!

Only locally. I don't have public rails server. But that is one of the potiential prizes. So maybe soon.
