Mac subterfuge?
I have wondered this for a while now, and I just wanted to pose this question to the creative professionals in this forum to get your take on it:
Do you practice Mac subterfuge?
By "Mac subterfuge", I mean: do you use Mac-specific or Mac-reminiscent elements in projects where you think you can "get away with it" ?
Some examples that come to mind:

Re: Mac subterfuge?
When building a front-end to an existing reporting system, I followed all of the Mac Human User Interface elements - it was seen as the most successful reporting front-end created for the department due to its ease of use.

I'm still trying to figure out if you're a girl posing as Macboy4139, or a boy posing as a girl, and a bit confused sexually. <shrug> laughinol

P.S. - it was on a Windows NT platform (yeah, I know) for an insurance company (how boring can you get?)

I don't have first hand experience, but I think it's just because the people use Macs and it's easy to just use a screenshot of the computer you're using.

Utilizing Mac-reminiscent fonts (like Chicago, Charcoal, Sand) in broadcast credits or print layouts.
No one should ever do that ever.

I use an image of the LCD iMac in hidden "About" boxes, in the databases I create.
They just look so good, so high-tech...

Would this count? This was in USA Today today.
I think that's what you're talking about. The HP ad guy must be a Mac fan (using 9 and Netscape, no less!).
If I knew what I was doing, I wouldn't be here.

hehe this is great!!
The methods of science are manifestly effective, having made massive humanitarian contributions to society. It is this very effectiveness which the purveyors of mystical philosophies attack, because they recognise in it the chief threat to the belief-based source of their power and financial reward. -Harry Kroto, Nobel Laureate

Yeah, but did you have to quote the image?
Anyway, one of the guys who drew Love Hina must be a Mac user, since Kaolla Suu has a Power Mac G3 and an iMac in her room, and in a later installment; what looks like a G4 Cube.

Re: Mac subterfuge?
When we discuss purchasing new computers at my company I joke with my boss that I'll order some new Macs. Of course my boss just laughs but one day she'll say "yeah, that's a good idea."
Actually, I may get to do that some time because we might be doing some work for NASA and I understand that they use Macs pretty heavily.
