Re: 'bu has gone corporate!
Welcome to the corporate world.
Prepare to sharpen your political skills as that is a part of corporate life.
Don't forget that the people that work really hard are less likely to advance than the people who do nothing except claim they did the work that everybody else did.
HR is usually evil and rarely has your best interest at heart.
Chatting for five minutes at the drinking fountain with the right person can get you a bigger raise than begging your boss for months.
Always save a little for a rainy day and by rainy day I mean when you find out that the company is "Restructuring" and you are now out of a job with no notice or warning.
Kissing your boss's butt is one thing but kissing your boss's boss's butt can double your salary.
Take no prisoners you just have to feed them.
Don't forget to have fun

I got realllllllly lucky with this job. I was shotgunning resumes. I had actually avoided applying at this place before because their site was really smurfy. I thought it was a just a couple of people in a garage.
During the interview I found out there were a real company. One of my first tasks was redoing the site. (they were almost all programers and no designers).

And I respect and actually like every coworker. Another rarity.Wow. Seriously, wow. Consider yourself very lucky, sir. It sounds like you've found yourself a once-in-a-million opportunity. I hope mine turns out to be just as good

Re: 'bu has gone corporate!
I think you'll have a pretty successful job hunt, provided the economy doesn't go down the toilet in 3 years' time (let's not get political here, k?). My new place was really impressed by two things: the fact that I was a do-everything guy here at CMG, most of which I had to learn as I went along, and the fact that I had almost four years of experience but was only two years out of college. Of course, having an on-campus job for three years in Information Technology didn't hurt anything.
Take a browse through Monster sometime, B. Find some postings that interest you and then see what kinds of skills and experience they are looking for. That will give you a good idea of the kinds of skills and abilities peoples want, albeit three years before you will be doing your job hunt. It is never too late to get an early start...or something like that
Look at it this way: you've sold as many paintings as Van Gogh—and you have both your ears.
Thanks, Dad.
