Getting back to Rib's point about NokX's opening gambit, I partly blame the reporter of the piece for that.  If he wasn't familiar with the neo-Confederate movement, he should have done some research before writing the article.  Just Googling H.K. Edgerton's name would have revealed the hoax.  Also, the reporter did not contact any other sources about the Confederate flag controversy, relying on Edgerton as his sole interview.  Many places where the neo-Confederates take their show on the road will at least call the local NAACP for an opinion.  Someone on the thread noticed that the clash between who Edgerton is (a descendant of slaves) and his rhetoric.   If the reporter had been astute he would have noticed the dissonance, too.  Edgerton mouths neo-Confederate propaganda that he seems to have learned by rote, but those words are the argument of white Southerners trying to justify the Confederacy.  He doesn't even sound natural.   There's some chance the reporter is a sympathizer, but a much greater likelihood he is just not a good journalist.

In regard to NokX's post and run style, I think he just wants to get his material out there for the minority of people who are succeptible to it.  Remember the last protester at Terri Schiavo's hospice who believed the most absurd claims, such as Ms. Schiavo talking and being able to eat?  There are always people like that.   NokX is looking for her equivalent for his issues.  If you monitor racist sites, you will find that just about any warm body who will spout the rhetoric is welcome.
