I know.  It's horrible.

The good thing is high school students can't interact with college students at all.  I'm curious as to how they verify your enrollment, since high schools don't issue e-mail addresses.

If you've moved a lot like me it's a great way to get in touch with the people you used to know.  And figure out if any of them are facebook whores.

Anonymous is stalking is limited to your school, but that's good enough.

Re: Facebook

Agreed, 'sumi.  I use it to stalk high school friends, see where they are, and where they're going.  Especially since I'm never home anymore and don't get to see them then.

Oh, mine did. they were awfully long so no one ever used them -

firstname.lastname.yearofenrolment@schoolname.countyname.sch.uk

and when you have a long name and the school and county names are long, it's a really long email address.

Anyway, i'm finally on the facebook. And no you can't have my profile url.

Re: Facebook

Yeah, my school started issuing email accounts this year.  I don't know how many other schools offer the same, though.

It seems so...

Maybe there's too much traffic, 'cause its labor day, everybody has homework to do, and everybody's hung over from the rest of the weekend, so everybody's on facebook.

And high school is on it. And because the population increases daily. And because Al Gore is checking his Facebook.

Re: Facebook

Hm. Thought I'd give it a shot, but it seems that you need to have an email address affiliated with your school in order to get going. So alumni are out. At least I am. I know that they took my email addresses out of the systems last time I checked.

Re: Facebook

In situations like that you have to get in as an undergrad and then you can just change your status whenever you graduate.

Facebook groups are also incredibly useless.  Though one allowed me to match a name to a face of a girl I see around from time to time. hubba

Re: Facebook

Facebook is ridiculous.  It's MySpace for college kids... wow amazing I'm so impressed.  It's a fad, give it a year or so.

Remember Friendster?  Yeah neither do I.

The only services that stick around on the internet are those that are actually useful for humankind.  That is why Wikipedia is so rad, and pets.com is dead.
