The Columbia space shuttle broke up over the southern USA. How would a piece get over to Germany. This guy is a fraud.

This guy is hilarious... Honestly, it was very funny to me.
If you actually read what he says, he never claims it to be from the space shuttle, just saying he found it in his back yard (then gives a location in Germany, lol) an hour after the explotion.
This isn't a hoax as much as an attempt to make a fool out of the people bidding.
He should have put a buy now option for a few hundred grand, and left it at that... instead of a 7 day auction (unless he wanted to get caught).

Re: columbia "debris" on ebay.
Meh. There's no shortage of idiots and buffoons. I remember when Peter Jennings was covering the World Trade Center tragedy as it was happening, some damn fool called in claiming to be a witness, or a survivor or something, and then babbled on incoherently. It was obvious the guy was pulling Jennings' leg. To his credit, Jennings said something about prank calls being an unfortunate occurrence, even in times of great tragedy, but he never lost his cool.
This joker is some equally pathetic excuse for a human being, thinking he's being clever or funny. He's a party of one.
