Here was the big question: "Using the PowerBook provided, make Ink appear in the System Preferences window." Now of course, no tablets were allowed (that would be cheating).
Did you give up? Here is the solution for Tiger:
Navigate to /System/Library/CoreServices/Menu Extras, and double-click on Ink.menu. This places the Ink icon in the Finder
