Problem with Soundtrack Pro
I am having a problem with Soundtrack. I applied a Clipped Signal under analysis and it shows me all the problems, but there is no status, and therefore I cannot fix anything! The files are 44.100, 16bit, stereo AIF files.
Am I doing something wrong?

Just as a note, it works OK if I choose Clicks and Pops.

Re: Problem with Soundtrack Pro
If your signal is clipped and digital, you are hosed 99% of the time.

Wait a minute,
It's on a computer, EVERYTHING is digital. So your telling me that some of these features will NEVER work and I should suggest that people NOT buy it and just get Sound Studio instead?

No. He was saying that if your digital audio is clipped, then there is not much you can do to recover it. It also depends on how clipped it is. Minor clipping is fixable, but major clipping is not.
Sounds like your stuff is majorly clipped...

Thats the thing, its not! You can barely hear the clipping!
There are a few area's with clipping on it that I wanted to try and remove, and when I brought it into Sound Studio and dropped the levels on it, it sounded fine!

I am not sure what Sound Studio is doing, but if the source audio is digitally clipped (levels too high when digitizing), there is very little you can do to fix it later.
If what you have is digitally unclipped, then you may be applying an effect which then overdrives the D->A converter, resulting in clipping in Soundtrack Pro.

I just brough the levels down in SoundStudio. I tried this in STP as well, saved, but it didn't work either! it had the STP icon, but was still really loud, though it was perfect in the program before I saved.
The files were exported directly from an AVID as AIF, the same audio was output to tape for Broadcast.
