Damn I wish my iPod and iPod Mini could randomly shuffle my entire library...oh wait, they can.

Yes, they can but not as random as the Shuffle which has two levels of randomness.

lol

Again, random in what's loaded onto the player and random in playback order. The shuffle in the main menu on other iPods also favors higher rated songs.

Yes, since that would be logical.  Since you rated the songs, the iPod shuffles the song in random order, while making sure the songs you want to hear are going to be heard.  There's nothing wrong with that at all.

If you wanted a small, slim audio player, that you could wear on your neck, why didn't you just buy an iRiver?  They've had that design for years before Apple.

Or did you just buy into Apple's marketing hype?

Re: So I bought my wife a shuffle today...

One cool thing I do with my shuffle is if during shuffle mode I come upon a song thats in that I'm in the mood for I swith the shuffle into ordered play and finish listening to the album (my songs are all organized in albums etc.).  The problem is that if I land on a song in the middle of an album and I switch to ordered play I can't skip back to the begining of the album because it will go back to the songs that you heard during shuffle mode.

This helps to get to songs without a screen.

I don't rate my songs. Then what happens?
