My favourite quote:
"I like getting up and picking out five CDs that I want to take to work with me," the self-described "pretty big music fan" said. "I don't need to have 2,000 songs with me all day, every day."
Wow. Imagine that.
What do I prefer? That's a otugh one lessee....
My choices are
1. Pick 5 physical CD's to take with me on the train/bus/whatever, adding bulk and the extra harassment of having to actually replace each CD in my portable CD player, or my car's CD player
or
2. For the same bulk and weight of carrying 5 CDs, I can have access to all (or most) of my CDs and the only extra harrassment is pushing the "play" button.
decisions, decisions......
That's what I'm saying!
And that's exactly why I bought an iPod. I hated carrying my CD player around, and several CD's in my bag. That's how my cases got cracked. I haven't had to worry about that for over two years now. And now I solely use my iPod in the car with my line-in. It's awesome.

And your opinion represents truth?
Why do you have to get so touchy and defensive?
I'm making a point about the iPod, not you, so stop making this personal.
It's like you're friken' obsessed with the iPod, like it's your pet dog or something. Get over it.
I don't know why I bother
Because I'm a Tru Master.
You're not going to get this.
Then next time, don't bother posting and save yourself some time. It would be the most logical thing to do.

It's moments like these when you walk past the annoyed Anti-Conformist wannabe and turn up your music.
Oh, and Habs, you have it stated incorrectly.
There might be better players for people out there who aren't using OS X. You see, there are no absolutes in subjective matters, no matter what you may believe. Some players are not going to work in the mannor which one consumer wishes, even though he/she is using Windows XP. Some may like the complex and flavored approach that iRiver has, while others may enjoy the simplistic and neutral approach that Apple has taken.
There is no need for a war, unless we are talking purely profit in the eyes of a competing company. To have a war exhibits nothing more than elitism and fanboyism, period.

So you only like better products when no one else recognizes them as being better products? That's twisted, man.
How's that twisted? Mac addicts have been doing that for years.
I don't know why I bother. You're not going to get this.
MacAddicts have been liking better products despite the fact that no one else recognizes them as being better products. If everyone suddenly recognized the fact that Macs are better, it wouldn't change us liking macs.
His story is different. The product didn't change, the number of people who like it did, now he doesn't like it. He's changing his mind about appreciating the product once it became too popular.
I read Habs quote as an acknowledgement that Macs are better products, although the general public doesn't realize that. Isn't that what he was saying - that he agreed?

Not quite.
What Habs was saying is like: "MacAdicts like Macs, because the general public doesn't realize that they're better."
What Oatmeal was saying is like: "MacAdicts like Macs, even though the general public doesn't realize that they're better."
