Re: option-e e doesn't work

The hell, it 'must'. I'll rot in hell before it 'must'. Translation-truncation nazi.

Great, now we have to worry about swearing in other languages.  I hesitate to ask, but give us the nasty swear words in other languages so we can add them to the filters please.

lol Not my decision to make, but that is absolutely a losing battle. Let me put it this way: there are over 800 languages in Africa alone. Every language in the world obviously has multiple swear words. Realistically speaking, I don't think such forms of filter dodging will really be used outside of threads like this. When it comes to foreign languages, the people reading it have to first figure out what language it's in and that's not always obvious. If you want people to see your English swear words, they can just click the quote button on your post.

If you ask me, I'd say the database is already having enough trouble without thousands upon thousands of foreign swear words being added to the filter list, not to mention all the work PHP (and thus the server's processor) would have to do for every single post every single time someone reads a topic. Think about it, how much of the currently filtered words are work-arounds people used to get around filters for English swear words? Now, can you imagine what it would take to stop people from doing that same thing for foreign swear words?

What you are suggesting would bring even Google's cluster of over 10,000 Linux servers to its knees. If they can't handle it, there's no way one piddly little XServe G4 running OS X can. It's already struggling enough as it is, and again the instances of people doing this would be minimal. Do this, and you will cause that server to explode before the next day.
