Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water"; so they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet." They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew.

Now, Pinky, if by any chance you are captured during this mission, remember you are Gunther Heindriksen from Appenzell. You moved to Grindelwald to drive the cog train to Murren. Can you repeat that?

I bet that that's the first time that a local school board election made international news!

I liken what your post points to. That stuff amazes me at every turn. When I go hiking, it is the first green in the spring and the last that is green in the fall. No wonder why St. Nicks herd thrive on it. It is often confused for moss.
Edit by brendave:
You thinking about terra forming via moss? Mars has water (ice). If we would get photosynthesis going then maybe that would form an atmosphere?

Hot damn! That's got REAL potential for helping to terraform Mars. Spread a few billion lichen around, wait two hundred years, we might be able to pull enough O2 out of the atmosphere to breathe.
That's an optimistic statement, not an ironic pessimistic one.

No, I think it's "when," most likely. Somebody somewhere better be working on that warp drive already.

Re: Evolution. Creation. Intelligent Design. Darwinism. Etc.
Is there a way to incorporate Intelligent Design concepts without either:
A. Making it some kind of ultra-Christian crap or
B. Absolutely mocking it in a science textbook
I think there could be room for it in a science class if it's done under "competing theories" or something like that and not even mention one particular religion. So is something like this possible?

Except ID is not a competing scientific theory.
There is no way to "incorporate" ID without teaching the children that there is something wrong with the scientific method, which would be a great disservice to them, seeing as how they drive cars, use computers, and cook with microwaves.
Aw, he's no fun, he fell right over.

Re: Evolution. Creation. Intelligent Design. Darwinism. Etc.
But if we're talking about the origin of the universe, all we have are "best guesses"
If we're talking about evolution, then there is a lot of evidence to support the evolutionary process. Evolution still doesn't explain the origin of the universe.

No, the big bang theory is not a guess. It can be measured to within 1/50th of a second of its beginning. Of course, it is currently wide open to various speculation and variable interpretation and continues to change, but as it can be quantified it is much more than a guess.

Incidentally, you can pickup the cosmic background radiation of the big bang on your TV set. It's the snow! (I know its hard these days with cable.) If you stare at it long enough, you will get a special message from God.

I don't know where this clip came from, but it isn't funny. It's dreadful. It is a graphic show of fear at its worse.
This poor woman is in terror! She's in a hysterical fit with terror! That's what comes with being so terrified of the 'wrath' of god that she's willing to do anything to save herself and her family. This is religion at its awesome, fanatic realization.
It must be akin to what the terrorist feels when pulling the trigger that releases the explosives embracing his/her body. It's insane!
