Time Of Death…
Well, I may be overstepping this but I think its worth mentioning. Aparently too few people wanted to do anything with Halo over the summer. My fall semester has started up and everyone elses should follow suite soon as well. The lack of effort put for to keep the clan up seems to be nill. More or less, it seems that the [MA]Halo clan be dead. Yes there are ocassional games between two or three of us every once and a while, but nothing of a clan nature.

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to agree with you.
The truth is, I would've resigned a month ago if there were only somebody active enough to take my place.

Re: Time Of Death…
Even GoEat hasn't been around much. The summer just wasn't nearly as acive as I had anticipated, and I myself was kept too busy by work and wedding stuff. Of course, now I'm no longer employed, and the wedding is behind us, so I have tons of time to play (and intend to do it a lot, both Halo and H2 on XBL). I don't intend to let this place go quite yet, but we do need to face the facts that, if we can't get fresh blood or fresh enthusiasm, this clan will dwindle to a small group that chats in Games or [MA] General (at least until H3 comes out next year).

Re: Time Of Death…
Well you guys have a server...did you ever run tourney's for the members here or get some good contacts with other Halo clans? Heck if it wasn't for our pals in the SOG group the Recon Div would have folded within a month or 2 due to not having anyone who could really host.
I've been on a bit myself but i've only been on the Bungie CTF servers. Tried MA but either no one is on or its on a gametype I don't like. If I do Halo online I much perfer just good ole CTF.

Re: Time Of Death…
I was on during the day today. Had a friend over who had been dying to play Halo online over DSL instead of my old 56k. Originally had the PC acting as a router since I had an extra Ethernet board. Then after it crashed every 10mins, which in turn crashed the iBook as well, I said the heck with it and went out and bought a cheap router from a local PCclub (wasn't sold anywhere else). Worked real nice after that
. Decided I could always spring for one of those GamerLounge routers after Christmas or something like that.

Digi, it does no good to cry 'Death!' It does nothing but foment a self-fulfilling prophecy... I suggest Prozac.
Icks and I have had very busy and/or rough summers, but one or both should have more time soon. Ear, it'd be good if you carried thru and bought Mac Halo as announced months ago... GE likewise has been busy. There are others who might jump on playing if given the chance- Sumi, dv, even Oats. None of this means it's time to disband; we need organizing.
A weekend server party might be a fine thing. Activity has dwindled but we ain't dead.

Re: Time Of Death…
I'm not saying that anyone should disban. I prompted my post by saying I may be overstepping this
. It was general consensus that we'd have a rocking summer, but life interfered. We've had dropped members and no one could consistantly play over the span of a few months. Most of the people here have delt with me systematically bugging them to play Halo over AIM. When summer was approaching and prior to that, peeps said that they were too busy with school, its not like that magically gonna change. Fresh blood should help out.

Well, after I checked out the long-awaited Mac demo and discovered that it really is not very enjoyable on my PowerBook...
... I sorta gave up on playing it on anything but my X-Box.
However, I've been investigating a tunneling app called Xlink Kai for Live-ish functionality now that Aquaduct is dead.
I just tested it earlier today; haven't figured out how to actually join a game and play yet
but it looks promising: built-in chat, various arenas for different types of games, clan support; and it works for networkable PS2 and GameCube games, as well.
I might be interested in setting up a subdiv on Xlink if this "second coming of Ear" is going to happen...
And even if I do actually follow through this time
and come back for games more regularly, I'm not going to be able to continue as any sort of leader.
I agree that an infusion of new blood would be a big boost for us, but where are we going to get such people?

Once we see who can be on more regularly, perhaps we should discuss new leadership? Nothing against you, Ear, just kind of thinking out loud and offering ideas.

Re: Time Of Death…
Which PB model, yeah it might not be super fast but be better than playing on an iBook. I've done it on my 1.2 iBook, just barely playable. Could also be the demo is not optimized properly like the full version. There was many updates with the full Mac version which helped boost fps here and there.

12" 1.5 GHz with 1.25 GB RAM and the 64 MB FX5200
I'll accept 30 fps on the console/TV when it looks good and plays smoothly, but not any less than that on my computer in an empty MP game with mostly everything turned down or off.
UT was just so frustrating for me losing against people getting 4x the framerate that weren't as good as I was.

I'd like to take that position and get thee' "Squad" running again. I remember a while back when we actually had a clan match. then we found out no one on the opposing team owned Halo and they wanted us to use cracked versions.... smurf.
With my newly installed net I would be more than willing to run a some practices and try to get are members reunited.

Okay, so how do we want to do this?
Shall I just appoint you my successor or do we want to take a vote?
