Starting practice again is a good idea, but I'm less sure of Zander as head of the Clan.

I don't see anything wrong with Zander leading. We need the in-rush of excitement over the game that we seem to have lost. I don't blame or single out Ear; school is a pain, and everyone has been playing less. I'd still like to see it put to a vote, though, just so that no one can complain about the new leadership. This is one of those things that I feel everyone should feel like they're a part of.

Depending on how things look on Monday, I may throw my name in the hat too (basically, if I still don't have a job, or if I have one but its part-time or something). Not to compete with Zander, but just to offer options. Make the vote interesting, you know? smile

I realize this is a bit of a zombie thread, but if folks could get the server checking utility running again, I think I'd start playing again. It's inconvenient for me to boot Halo, log on, and discover no one is playing. That little desktop tracker was awesome.

It's been a while, but I think I would like to get back into the game.

that litlt edesktop tracker was accessed via GeekTool iirc. In order to get the tracker to work, GeekTool needs to be updated. The author has alomost no intent of doing that.

The website tracks the server, too (when [MA]3 is actually working). Still waiting to hear from Llevi about that.

Icks would probably rather have you give the site a hit so he can sell more ads or read his frequent witty updates big_smile , but you can just bookmark this, the link on our site- e.g., right now it correctly shows "There was no Halo server detected at 208.57.175.110 on port 2302."

big_smile Yeah, sometimes I just want to know people are even viewing the page. Otherwise, its kind of hard to justify the electric bill each month from keeping all this running 24/7.

We've certainly been trying, but there's only so much going on in the World of Wa... Halo these days. We need that server back up so we can get back to actually playing.

Well I couldn't leave things up nonstop but I could dedicate my iBook for this. Would dedicate my PC but with the number of times it either crashes or blue screens, I couldn't count on it. Got class 2night and i'll need my iBook for that but 2morrow might work. Any special info I need to know for dedicating a server in Halo?

NC, this weekend may be a great opportunity. The week would be bad if you need the compy for your own purposes. And as you already know, Levi says [MA]3 may not be back up for a while yet.

Tell you guys what. I need to take down my PC to install some new hardware again, but then I'll load up my Halo dedicated server and post info about it here. It'll give us a place to play, and we can organize something for this weekend.

Well I got other comps I can use. If I have to leave something dedicated i'd perfer it be the iBook since it uses less power. So I can have something up and running. Earliest I could test would be tuesday.

I haven't played with it at all, though, so I don't remember if there's a time limit on each map (which, obviously, would be nice. otherwise the map won't rotate until someone wins).

If you can't get in, post it in the Play thread (I'm also copying this post to the play thread).

The server IS auto-rotating about every 10-20 minutes, it seems. So no one should get stuck on the same map forever all alone. And I was sure to add in a map or two with vehicles.

Anyone know of a modded Infinity that supports Scorps? I'd be so all over that.

I'll make a point of getting on soon anyway. Thing're busy, but I miss playing. Weekend sounds good.

I almost threw on Longest modded to be death island with pelicans, but I wasn't sure who could run that mod and who couldn't, and since the web server isn't up and running...
