I WANNA APPLE STORE!
I mean, really, its time, so does anyone know how to get Apple to look at the metrics and see if it pays to put in a store in a market area?
... just trying to maintain..

I just call up Steve Jobs and suggest a good place. He usually agrees, because me and Steve -- we're tight like that.

Re: How do you get Apple to build a store?
Buy stuff at any other Apple store. Give them your Zip code when they say "What's your Zip code?"
Do that often enough, and get enough people to do it, and they'll consider your area to be profitable enough for a store. I've seen the maps - they're interesting.

If you then say "I live in a country where we call it something else." then they'll spit in your face and laugh about Birmingham.

You gotta have a mall first. Not just any mall, a trendy mall with equally trendy stores. Look for high end clothing and way too many teenagers. Apple will then put a store in there.

That works but I think the part that sucks for him is that the nearest Apple Store is in Houston.

er..... If I replace 'high end clothing' with 'overpriced crap' and 'teenagers' with 'Mall Hoochies', what would that get me?

Since I'll be up all night anyway...I'll devote some time to figuring this out and making it happen, k?

A booth in the mall that sells Dell's.
Of course, you have to wait for it to ship from Dell to your house.

Both of those would actually improve upon the mall in question.

Re: How do you get Apple to build a store?
Just build your own store with apple supplies and stuff, name it the Apple Store, and wait for them to sue and buy you out. Then you will have a brand new store. Voila! I mean...it can't be that hard...

Re: How do you get Apple to build a store?
Now that a million people in southern Louisiana have moved north, usually closer to Shreveport (home of the thread's first poster "cbaines"), and won't be buying new homes, just oatmeal, they will have plenty of extra cash.
Sorry for the thread drift.

Better than 5 hours (Atlanta), 6 hours (Nashville), and 16 hours (Dallas/Ft. Worth).

Re: How do you get Apple to build a store?
Get a university nearby, A large population, and a mall that has high trafic area
There are only 5 apple stores within an hour of my house, (1 10 mion away, an other 30 min away)
I will not use becouse you have to pay for parking

Re: How do you get Apple to build a store?
I am not sure why, but the Pacific Northwest went from 'closest Apple Store in California' to seven in just a couple years. Three have opened in Portland in less than a year. I know that the average Apple computer user has more education and a higher income than most consumers. I suspect that tracking that (by zip code and questionnaires). I also think the cool factor has something to do with it. Apple Stores may only be built in places where Steve would feel comfortable hanging out. There aren't any in Alabama, Mississippi, Utah or North Dakota. And, now with New Orleans gone, any claim Louisiana had to coolness is history.
