My New Ford Focus!
Yesterday, I just purchased a brand new Ford Focus! B/c I'm on a college budget and only have one job right now working at Applebees (trying to start up a computer painting biz) I could only get the standard car. It has a 2.0L Duratec 20 engine, single CD player, yellow egg yolk exterior, charcoal interior and with adjusting pricing it came out to only 11,510! Btw, if you live in and around Madison, make sure to go to Capitol Ford and ask for Chip. Great guy with a great personality. If you have a car you're proud of just tell me about it in the forum.

Re: My New Ford Focus!
Congrats! I also recently purchased a vehicle, but mine was used. '97 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 4.0L straight six, lots of options. Its a great vehicle, and the only one that has made me just want to hop in a drive till I run out of gas.
BTW- Greetings from a fellow Wisconsinite. (Assuming you mean Madison, Wisconsin...)

I live on a farm near Hilbert, which is about 20-25 miles south of the Fox Cities (Appleton, Kaukauna, Menasha, Neenah, Darboy, Little Chute, Grand Chute, Kimberly, etc) on the eastern side of Lake Winnebago. I always tell people that I live near Potter (pop. 300 or so). They can never figure out where that is because it is rarely on any map.
Actually I know several people from my High School class go to UW-Madison. They would be seniors or have graduated by now.

Re: My New Ford Focus!
Always a critic. I'll tell u why. There are very few chances in life when a car in as good of shape my focus is in, is so reasonably priced. And for your information, i looked at "used cars" and to even get a halfway decent "used car" you would have to pay ten grand. Not to mention, most of the focuses on the lot had seen better days and were not in good condition.

Hey cool! I love that area around Lake Winneabago. I always pass through there on my way to go see a Packers game in Green Bay. Appleton's Fox River Mall is huge and is really a nice place to go. I still can't believe there isn't an apple store there. I can't say i've been to hilbert, but i'm sure it's a beautiful place if it's in wisconsin, the best state ever! lol

That should tell you something about the future resale value of the vehicle you just purchased.
Enjoy your car while it's still running all right. Sounds like you'll have fun with it!

Re: My New Ford Focus!
See I knew u were going to respond with a statement like that. U r just a really friendly guy, aren't u? Unlike those vehicles. it wasn't the car itself that had probelms, but cosmetic details instead. In other words, people didn't take care of their cars. However, i intend to do so. This thread wasn't intended for an exchange of sarcastic remarks, rather about people sharing positive thoughts with one another. Evidentally, u can't handle that, so i suggest u have no right in this thread!

Well, for one, I wasn't being sarcastic. Two, if you want the rainbows and bunnies forums, you've come to the wrong place. Well, at least stay out of Minithink.

Sorry, just couldn't resist. Should have resisted, but just couldn't!
That's GREAT that you've purchased a new car! It really is. So exciting! And, you're working hard for it. Very responsible. Gives the car a much higher value to you when you've picked it out, done all the haggling, and spent your own money on it! I know you'll take good care of it. It is a milestone in your life! Be sure to take some pictures of it! It will be the car you'll always remember best and most often.
And, when the sad day comes that you sell it or trade it in, keep one set of keys to it. Take one of the pictures of it when it was new, and frame the picture with the keys! Then one day in the distant future someone will look at that picture with the keys and say, "WOW! I didn't know that cars used to come with keys! What were the keys for?" Assuming, of course that the speaker will even recognize those weird metal objects as "keys"!
I'm happy for you. It's just FUN! Too Cool!

Maybe for the zero miles and warranty? It is a Ford, after all.

I'm sorry, any man driving a egg yolk yellow Focus with a charcoal interior has very little room to be calling someone else a homosexual.

There is no Apple Store in Appleton, but we do have a really great Apple retailer called Computer World. It is just a few blocks from the mall on Wisconsin Avenue. You should check it out the next time you are up this way. There is a guy by the name of Chris (there used to be two chris's, this guy has lighter hair, the other had really dark hair) that is sort of a hacker. He used to tell me about his 8600 that he had running in two cases on a cart so he could wheel it around his house and hook it up to a projector for playing games. Everyone there is really friendly.
Everyone seems to like the mall, but don't go near christmas. They park cars at the local colleges and bus the people in because there are NO parking spots available in the lot most of that time. I prefer to shop out on the East side in Darboy. I do go to the Best Buy by the mall, but I avoid it around christmas as well.
Anyhoo, congrats again on you purchase!

I was going to say exactly what the car man said.
I've been looking at the Focus, as well as the Mazda 3. My car's approaching its death rattle, I think.

Pah. Unless you're driving off-road or for 3+ hours/day, your car should be made of pig-digestible plastic-wool resin and use a lawnmower engine.
