It's College Football Time, Kiddos!

I can hardly believe we're already into this season!
Bowling Green actually had Wisconsin on the ropes for while today.
Can Oklahoma really be that bad?  Sure they lost Jason White, but to go from the championship game to losing to TCU...
Now it looks like Auburn might be trouble too after theit undefeated 2004 season.  I must admit, it would make me laugh if Georgia Tech pulls this one out.  --Holy crap!  --It looks like they might with that interception with 3:40 to go!
ND topples Pittsburgh.  The real test will be next week though in the Big House.
I'm really looking forward to Miami-FSU on Monday too (even if Florida State doesn't really stand much of a chance).

We (Pitt) got raped tonight 42-21 by Notre Dame. Everybody was real depressed.

What was the Football team doing all summer? They look unorganized and under-conditioned. They were cramping and tired before the half was out

They did have that one really great drive.  At the beginning.

In all seriousness, I really don't know how good ND will be yet.  Michigan will be the big test.  But even if we lose to Michigan and USC, a 9 win season would be huge.  Additionally, from watching last night all I can say is that the Irish looked much more disciplined and able to execute.

It certainly looked like they did smurf this summer. Not to mention the fact that Pitt has no defense, and on offense, it seemed they tried to run the smurfing ball every time. A bunch of people in my dorm came back early, and then, we didn't even go drinking because we were too depressed to go drink.

Don't forget Tennesee and Purdue.

So the Bears need a QB miracle quick, Texas and USC look to be doing their things, and Oklahoma and Auburn seriously suck... now that's funny! Anyone go to a game this weekend? I lost my voice shouting obscenities at our horrible back-up QB.

Smart man.  --You didn't even mention USC since that is pretty much a guaranteed loss for the Irish yet again this year.
Tennessee might not be too bad based on their sloppy showing against UAB.

After watching West Virginia and Syracuse today, it is clear that the Big East no longer deserves their BCS bid.  The WAC or the MAC are more deserving at this point--hell, even the Mountain West (with Utah, TCU, and Air Force knocking up wins against Pac-10 teams and Oklahoma) is looking more deserving at this early point.
The strongest showing of the Big East was Rutgers loss to Illinois.  With some luck, and with their easy schedule, the Scarlet Knights could make a bowl game this year.

USC might not be a guaranteed loss- Weiss has made a living watching professional  offense and  is one of the best offensive minds from the NFL.  I doubt anything USC could throw up there would surprise him.  The test of that game will be whether or not he has enough talent on the team to counter what he knows is coming.

Tennessee is no where near as bad as they appeared yesterday.

Hehehe, I was going to start this thread yesterday but I forgot.

Walking away from the stadium before the game yesterday was like salmon swimming upstream to spawn.

Game days are fun. big_smile

Heh.  Neither is USC.

Sorry to break it to you, but SC will dismantle ND yet again this year.  Your question "does ND have the talent" can be answered right now.  --No.

I'll still be there though--praying for another miracle, as that's what it will take.

Yes, at the end it was definitely sad.

Before half time though, it was very exciting.

lol.

I talked to a couple guys walking around wearing Bowling Green shirts afterwards.  They were pretty bummed.

But they were still having fun getting drunk with the rest of Madison. ;)
