Civilization IV - to be released Nov for PC
Anyone hear rumors about when/if there will be a Mac port for Civ IV? I'm half afraid that with the impending move to Intel there won't be a port, with the thinking that Mac users with just buy a new Intel based Mac (weird to actually type that) and dual boot to the current flavor of Windows for gaming. I REALLY want a good, quick OS X port that allows online multiplayer with Windows versions!! The lack of MP and poor support was the reason I never considered Civ III.
Until Civ IV arrives: LONG LIVE CIV II MPG!!

Meh. It can't be better than Rome: Total War. I want a port of that.

Don't know about Civ IV offhand.
How 'bout Omeray Otaltay Orway- BI?
Rome: Total War - Barbarian Invasion is the expansion to the best-selling Rome: Total War. The original game covered the rise of the Roman Empire and the struggle to be the Emperor of the Roman World. In the tradition of earlier Total War expansions, Barbarian Invasion (BI) introduces a new campaign in a time when an almost-unstoppable threat has arisen.
...
The expansion moves the action on 350 years to a time when the Roman Empire is in deep trouble, beset by enemies inside and out, and possibly even dying. The year is 363 AD, and the Roman Empire has split into two parts ruled from the cities of Rome (for the Western Empire) and Constantinople (for the Eastern Empire). If this weren’t bad enough, barbarian tribes have been massing on the Imperial frontiers in Europe for many years. In the East the Empire faces a renewed threat from the Persian Empire, under new vigorous rulers, the Sassanids.
Sweet screens. Due out shortly.

Still looking for Civ IV rumors for Mac. The fact that NO ONE is taking about a Mac port bugs me. Sure I know that maybe 6 months from now they'll throw us a bone, but could Fireaxis at least say IF they are planning/working on a port and with who??

Maybe they don't want to get in to a PPC Mac port, when the Intel switch is around the corner. It would almost be 2x the work for them.

That'd likely be financial suicide.

The latest IMG Glenda/Tuncer talk does seem to indicate it's not as easy as Steve implied, doesn't it? Darn those little details...

Not suicide, just the usual "We don't want the hassle for a fraction of 4% of the computer market. They can always buy a PC..."

Last I checked, 100% of that 4% was PPC.
