Vatican to approve of gay men entering seminaries to become priests
There was some discussion a while back here at MA about this. Seems this addresses some of the concerns that the Catholic Church was being anti-gay. They were only addressing concerns about putting people that were just recently active in relationships with other men in an environment with only men- who are preparing for a life of celibacy to better serve their communities.
In short, gays are welcome to be priests, they just need to be sure to be celibate for a few years before entering. I figured this news might be of interest to some folks

Good... I know the Catholic hierarchy has a lot of smart people and the ignorant belief that pedophile <-> homosexual is just ridiculous.
I still believe in liberalism today as much as I ever did, but, oh, there was a happy time when I believed in liberals.

Ya, you're right about that but I also think that the fact that the Catholic hierarchy has a lot of smart, gay, people in it dident hurt.

I thought priests were supposed to have always been celibate...

You have never needed to be a virgin to be a priest. Furthermore, in some cases, married men have become priests or men whose wives died.

...so shall I assume that they will also allow "bisexuals" into the priesthood?
