eMusic.com
I just read the review of emusic in the new macaddict. Seems pretty sweet to me... almost too sweet. Has anyone here tried it? Any opinions? If it's as good as it sounds, it just might replace iTunes for me.
What do we want?! Brains! When do we want it!? Brains!

Meant to post this in circuit board or balloon help.

Never tried it myself, but my tunes are there.

Re: eMusic.com
I've been using it--it's as good as it sounds, if you can find music you like. There's not nearly as much of the top-shelf stuff as on iTunes, but I've been finding Camper van Beethoven, Mekons, Tony Bennett, live Taj Mahal, Thievery Corporation...buncha stuff.
I should mention, we were comped a short-term basic subscription when we were working on the article. So if there are problems around payments, I wouldn't know about those.
You can browse the collection here--it's not obvious from the main page.

Re: eMusic.com
I've been using it for about 6 months, and I absolutely LOVE it! It is every bit as great as it sounds. It is by far the best deal out there for digital music.
If anyone else out there uses it, and is also a Myspace.com member, why not join the group I create there: eMusic artists on Myspace.
This is a group for people to share information about artists they find on MySpace.com that sell their music on eMusic.com.
For eMusic.com fans (like myself) this could be a great way to discover more artists whose music they can get with their eMusic.com subscription.

TMBG had stuff on there before iTMS existed.
I still believe in liberalism today as much as I ever did, but, oh, there was a happy time when I believed in liberals.

Re: eMusic.com
I saw the ad for eMusic a the recent issue of "that other mac magazine"
... the ad with Johnny Cash is the one that caught my attention in the event there were others.
I figured if MW would allow it to be printed it had to be semi-legit. I tried it... and while I do like it... I grabbed my 50 free tunes and cancelled within about two hours. No odd charges have appeared on my CC (yet!)
so it was worth it to me.

Re: eMusic.com
I've been uising eMusic to get my music for about 4 or 5 months now and I LOVE IT. There is a lot of sween independent music, much of it has more to offer I think that the stuff promoted by the giant lables. Plus the files are high quality mp3s with NO DRM! I truly own these tracks. Anyway, I'll answer any questions you guys have about it...just send me an email and I'll get back with you.

Re: eMusic.com
I had it for a month after the trial. It is OK but does not have a big selection of music I am interested in.

Re: eMusic.com
I haven't tried it yet but I got the 100 song offer when I downloaded Realplayer or something for my PC. I'm going to grab the ones that interest me and then bail. I'll stick to iTunes but free is never wrong...
Now, where in the name of... did I put that thing that I forgot what it was and why I was looking for it?

I did the same thing except with the 100 song offer.
I decided to bail when I had a hard time finding 100 free songs that I wanted.
Same here, it took me a while to find the 100 free songs I wanted for 2 reasons.
1) They don't really offer enough of the bands/songs that I like.
2) Navigating to actually find what you want is a chore in itself, when my pet chimp gave up and almost cancelled the account before all 100 free songs were chosen, I knew it wasn't something I would keep.
