Yeah it's nice that we have a "better" forum system now, that UBB was a pile

I was a member of the MacAddict Seti team until I heard that there was a Mac client for folding@home. Been folding ever since.

Re: How did you hear of Team Macaddict4Life
I had been going to these forums for a while, and kept hearing about these things called "folding" and S.E.T.I.. I had no clue what they were.
Folding@Home was mentioned on the MA frontpage. I followed the link to the team website and clicked on "About Folding@Home" which had an explanation about what Folding@Home is.

Re: How did you hear of Team Macaddict4Life
When recruiting new members, I always said the same basic thing. Writing it down repeatedly got old real fast. I thought, "Why not make a thread of it on the MAF?" The idea was for team members to bump it every day so that people could follow a link to it and find out what Folding@Home is.
TonyPrevite didn't like the thread's name, so he deleted the thread, and reposted it under his username as "The Benefits of Folding!" as it is now called. I made a promotional flyer for members to print out and distribute.
Jkahless got the idea to use stats (as opposed to uninformative bumps) to keep the thread linked to on the main page.
When the new forums were made public, I started the thread on them.

Ditto. I still have a few really old slow clients running SETI for me.

Jkahless got the idea to use stats (as opposed to uninformative bumps) to keep the thread linked to on the main page.
And now you can just make a sticky message without having to worry about basic bumping or stats bumping.

Looks like Tony needs to enable Sticky permissions for REG on our forum. Or Tony needs to create it himself.
