Yeah, I can make teen girls wretch with my face, too. I'll be more than happy to post it for you if you promise not to wank or throw darts at it.

Thats pretty damn funny. How do you define workstation?
Many people use laptops as workstations these days - they dock to really nice displays, and are more powerful than workstations of just a few years ago - so why shouldn't they be considered a workstation?
Many now use laptops exclusively - feeling there is no need for a desktop workstation anymore.
Agreed. My laptop is my workstation.

Just as I figured. So quick to talk smack and complain, so slow to actually DO IT. Aren't Mac users design professionals? Don't you just love to run around and boast how fast your Mac is and rant about the mhz myth?
Where?
Your mindless trolling complains about everything from iPods to bogus marketshare numbers to 3d video card babbling. Where do you see anyone on this board claiming that Macs are the fastest things on the planet? Where?
If speed is your only concern, than why drivel on about iPods? If speed is your big concern, think of all the time you could have saved by actually producing something rather that masturbating to pointless benchmark tests? Or posting non-stop drivel?
Who cares how fast your computer is if you don't/can't use it? True professionals find the tool(s) that suit them, and get to work doing what they need the tools for in the first place.
PC or Mac, there is always something out there that is faster. If you buy the fastest thing available today, wait a week, something faster will come along. Diminishing returns. Replacing your computer/parts every week to gain a half second it stupid. As with most creative professions, the biggest chunk of time isn't in the execution of the tool, it is in the creative part. If I could double the speed of my laptop tomorrow, I would only be shaving time off a very tiny percentage of my work. And frankly the time invested in switching machines / upgrading would have a greater impact than a couple of seconds here and there.
Clients are paying for my creative abilities and skill set. Not how fast my computer is.
The number crunching/hardware masturbation is for the grunts who have delusions of importance. The IT guy at a design firm who fancies himself critical. You will rarely find creative pros who winge on about this crap. How many of the animators at Pixar do you think could instantly tell you the bus speed of their workstation? Few I would wager. They are focused on the real important things like their actual skills that make them good at what they do.
Stop being an obsessive fanboy and work on your skill set. If you get good enough, you may one day join the ranks of the professionals and find you don't have the time to do stupid tests on your "computer" and find the need to frequent forums to attack ipods/macs/markeshare/whatever.
I am disappointed that you haven't been banned yet, since you never contribute anything by varied attacks on everything Apple. Get a life. The fastest video card in the world won't help you one damn bit if you have a crappy skill set.

I know it seemed off-topic, but he's starting to spew bile in his own threads now, and I won't hesitate to lock any and all of it down until something more severe can be done.

Not surprised one bit. This stuff is pretty common sense to us critical thinking folk. The speed obsession seems to just be relegated to those don't have any real skills.
I used to know this IT guy at the last place I worked who was a storage freak. He would drone on and on about multiple drives and arrays and configurations and crap. He had something like 10TB with redundancy. He wouldn't stop talking about it. What did do with all that space? MP3s and movies downloaded from various places. He had no computer skills beyond the basic IT stuff. But he fancied himself 1337 because he could babble on and on about storage. The designers and developers just thought he was a joke. We just burned CDs/DVDs when our drives got full.

So true. So true.
What is even crazier is that the only thing a faster computer will save you is time. But clients are not as interested in your time as they are in the value that you bring. Half the price for half of the talent is a bad deal for most clients. The ones that think it is a good deal are not worth having as clients.
