Classic in the back ground
I am required to run classic on my work machine and left it on overnight yesterday and I can attest that with Classic up but not actie it still slows down processing by about 15 %.
If classic is STOPPED I can get about 16% of a work unit down over night from 7 pm to 9 am. but when it is running in the background only about 14 or 13 %
If it is running in the for ground I can only get about 10% of a Wu done in a 10 hour day.
This is for a 22 or 25 series work unit. 400 frames.
Classic really sucks up the cycles although is does not seem to bother the program otherwise.

Re: Classic in the back ground
i have seti on classic, and so when i leave classic running overnight seti pops up, and takes all the cycles, ill get maybe a percent or so done (but then again, i go to bed around 12 or 1, and i wake up at 5 30, so i dont leave my computer unattended nearly as long as you do
)

Re: Classic in the back ground
Hecksf, I suggest that you go to System Preferences -> Classic -> Advanced, then set Classic to go to sleep after a specified interval.
