Facebook genius
So when you register your computer at university, you get a hostname - <hostname>.stanford.edu. This is a fully official domain name, so anyone outside the university can access it. So I set up my computer as a mailserver, then went on over to facebook, and yipppie! unlimited facebook accounts! My cat now has one, but I can obviously add as many as I want. Pretty cool.
Thought I'd share.
I have been asked to remove my infamous Avatar by a moderator, and I shall reluctantly comply.
Rest in peace, my friend.

Spirit was crushed; now is fading, But I want to help make things right.
Because I can see and I can feel, and you can see and you can feel
So why don't we both either stand up and fight
Or at least together we'll call it a night.

My thoughts exactly.
My space is for angsty teenagers and self-proclaimed emo kids.

Plus, everyone's myspace is butt ugly. HS facebook has a nice uniform appeal. I just wish you could interact with College Facebook from HS facebook!

Re: Facebook genius
Facebook seems more like an online dating service then a place where you meet and interact with others. Myspace has always appealed to me more, since it's a little more interactive and personal.
Facebook does have the advantage of being real, IE: it's very hard to meet people you don't already know.

Re: Facebook genius
The only redeeming feature of facebook is posting fake parties at fake addresses. It's amazing how gullible some freshmen are...

bullsmurf.
you dont have 300 friends. No one knows 300 people but I can promise you 1 in 3 people on facebook have 300 friends at the school they are at and another 200 that are at other schools.

Yeah, Michigan gives us building-xxx-xxx.reshall.umich.edu. Pretty cool stuff.
You don't need to set up your own mailserver, though, because anyone here can creating discussion groups, which, if you're the only member, is pretty much just like having an additional address @umich.edu.
