help a newbie print
okay. bought some tax software, and tried to print. only to find that somehow i've futzed with chooser, and now i can't get it to work.
attempting to open chooser gives me "item can't be opened. may be disabled or uninstalled." so i guess i may have moved an extension or something but i can't find a disabled one that would apply.
desktop print utility doesn't recognize my printer either. if i try to select a printer, nothing shows as a valid printer in the dialog box. though i guess that fixing chooser will solve this problem...
BTW, the printer is connected, as i can see it in system profiler. i just don't know how to use it if i can't run chooser!

Re: help a newbie print
try restarting with Mac OS 9 Base or All option in Extensions manager. Other than that I would recommend a clean install of OS 9.

What printer is hooked up? You need the right extention enabled for it to show up in the chooser. Most basic ones come as part of the OS software, but some like the Color Style Writer 4100/4500 require an additional printer extention. You may have what you need, but not enabled or just missing the correct one for your printer.
