Anybody else download it? I don't see what's so fascinating about this app...
Here.

Re: Google Earth, eh?
Probably. If anybody has a place to host it, go for it. I do, but I don't have enough bandwidth to leave it up here for very long

It does fine until you turn up the quality settings, then it maxes out the CPU and crashes a lot. This must be an early beta...

That's why security experts recommend Telstra BigPond.

I like how it zooms out and then back in when it moves. I feel like I'm flying

Maybe as an application it's nothing special, but you don't find flying around the globe with actual satellite pictures fascinating?

Personally, I'd find World Wind [NASA Earth] more interesting but less useful.

In my opinion, Google Earth is the most amazing technology of 2005 I've ever seen.
The hands-on ability to view EVERYTHING in such an amazing way is phenomenal. I'm completely smitten with the omnicience it gives me. I feel like God the Almighty.
All I want is for the cars to be moving, and to have a bazooka like GTA.

if it didn't I'd say you have issues. most of use don't have that much power. Theoretically I only have 1/4 of that power.

Runs great on my iMac G5 1.8Ghz w/ the barebones 512MB of RAM. I haven't tried to change anything yet though, since I've heard that breaks it.
