Ah'm back in the saddle, again...
Is anyone playing any realm other than Whisperwind?

Re: Ah'm back in the saddle, again...
I have a toon named "Snackbilly" an an alt named "Fizl" on Maelstrom; plus a few other servers, as well.
"Yattlejack" is my main on Whisperwind, but it's annoying to have to wait to get on. (But I do it...for [MA])

I bailed from WoW about 3 months ago cuz of the breakup, and the necessary funds needed to vacate the apartment I shared with "her."

Is Maelstrom a PvP?
Queues have been big as of the holidays, from what I have gathered. I started a new toon on Akama yesterday, since Thunderlord was freaking a FOREVER wait.

Maelstrom is RPPvP.
(It was one of my first accounts, so I didn't know about the different game types at the time).
I also have a Horde character (a Tauren hunter named "Beauxvyne") on Wildhammer, which is PvP (if you feel like slumming it on the "dark side")
Of course, I'm willing to start a fresh character on a low- to medium- populated server, if anyone else is game to do so.

Terenas (pve) is filled with goats.
It's classified as Full by Blizzard, but we only see queues during real peak times (patch days, hollidays, etc).

I play on Stormscale (PvP). Lvl 44 Undead Mage. Look me up some time as Anestii of the Despised Guild.

Akama is new. That is why I chose it. I'm already in a guild, and they are recruiting all classes/levels. It is an Alliance guild. So come aboard!

All I was saying is that the characters that you left should still exist. As should your initial account.

I suggest picking a server where server time is the same as your local time. Trying to run instances with people a few hours ahead or behind your local time will be very difficult. They'll either have already left for the instance when you get on in the evening (a few hours ahead of you) or not be ready to go yet (a few hours behind you). That get's old.

They do - the guildies I played with are currently AWOL, so I am trying a new race and class on a new server. Dig?

How do I find out the server time zone?

That's a very good question. I'm not finding that information over at the WoW site. I'll put that question to Blizz and ask them to update their realm status page with those details. You could make a character on each server, start playing him and check the time.

Yeah, I could, couldn't I...
Of course, getting all toons up to level 20 would take forever... let alone alone 60

They used to be organized by time zone but Blizzard removed that for some crazy reason.

Well, inspired by you, iBubba...I created a dwarf hunter named "Auggie" on Akama, but I've noticed that being new isn't much better (it may in fact be worse) than being full. I was lagging out left and right last night on Whisperwind (when I could get on), Maelstrom, and then Akama. That's why I looked through the list at the "Low" population servers...that's when I found Wildhammer. There are others, I'm sure.

Thats because everyone loaded up on the East and West coast servers and ignored the Mountain servers.
WoW: Thadeious - Level 60 Warrior - Whisperwind
Darious - Level 60 Mage - Whisperwind

Well, not everyone. I chose a mountain server when it was still a mountain server.

I'll send you a message tonight so we can run together. The lag for me isn't too bad... I wonder what issues you may have different than mine?
Home Rig (aka "Neo"):
------------
1.8 MHz G5 iMac w/512 MB RAM. Running Titan and no other Add ons.
I live in MN, so I am CST.
On Sunday, my latency peaked at 2200ms, so I logged out. Since then, however, I have hovered around 120ms with lows so far down as 70ms and a few peaks at 332ms.
edit: There have been some issues with "teleport walking" since the 1.9.1 patch game-wide. I am sure Blizzard will fix it next Tuesday. Is that the lag you were experiencing? If so, I don't think it has anything to do with "high populations."
