Apple Intel Ad
I guess intel isn't too happy about the downplaying of older intel products. I wouldn't know though everytime I try to run this dang thing it crashes (both IE and Firefox).

Re: Apple Intel Ad
There was already a thread about this that had several replies but got pushed backed to page 2 due to a lot of threads being started in a short period of time. www.macaddict.com/forums/topic/76283

Re: Apple Intel Ad
It is pity and stupid to pissed off your new partner that you "depend" on just for the hell of it.
Let me put it this way, 5% of Intel cpu go to Apple while 100% of future Apple cpu depend on Intel, why Apple pull this kind of crap I never understand

According to NYT today, Intel have no idea about the ad until it is shown.

Re: Apple Intel Ad
I thought the ad was great. There telling you, intel CPU's are good. They just have been working in POS PC's doing BS work. Now, there set free to be used to there limits in a Mac. That is what I get out of the ad. Intel was good, now they will be even better on Mac's. How is that a dis?
Now that Apple is using them, AMD will have to come up with some even better stuff. I personally think one of the big things holding back Apple all this time was the fact that they had to wait and wait and wait for IBM or Moto to get CPU's to them that were at the point Apple wanted them to be. Apple pushed the crap out of those chips to be the best performing they could be on their OS. I'm sure Apple will do the same with intel, as they will have to in order to compete with MS Windows using the same CPU. And of course AMD's CPU. Which leads to the next thing of why they didn't use AMD. Intel's road map must kick ass in the year/s to come. That would be my first guess. Secondly, AMD can't produce enough. Just like IBM and Moto. So, what good is a fast CPU, that you have to wait for.
I'd like to see one more PPC CPU update before they go bye bye forever. Something like a 3GHz G5 Dual Core, 2MB cache (on die memory controller DDR2 667 or something like that). That would be hot. And would last a good while I think. I would get it, that's for sure. Then later on get an intel Mac once they have all the key software updated for universal binaries. Unless intel has some secret Yohan/Xeon combination thing going. Where you get all the benefits of Yohan (low power, high performance) and the power to drive servers and workstations like a Xeon, with HT, and EMT64. Just my thoughts.
****
I just read a Cnet article on this ad. Saying intel doesn't want any of its customers to think they think there dull or boring. And, that they didn't have anything to do with that ad. But, if it helps make them more interesting and invigorates there innovation to be more creative. That's good too.
BS, they knew. Stop lying. I'm sure they even thought it was funny as it is. And they Apple at the end of the day has to compete against those other companies using intel processors. So, whether intel likes the ad or not, or if they saw the ad or not. Its not gonna hurt intel at all. Everyone will point to Apple as the root of it all. Apple has intel too and wil do a better job with there CPU's and their other hardware then Dell, HP, Compaq, Lenovo, ect. That is what the ad says. Nothing more. Other then windows sucks balls too. I got that feeling watching it.

Re: Apple Intel Ad
I'm pretty sure they knew about the ad. The Intel guy at Macworld came out dressed like the people in the Ad.
I personally like seeing an ad that just flatout says the company's products are better than the rest. The whole point of commercials is to promote your product, and there's no beating around the bush in this one.

That "Intel guy" was their CEO, Paul Otellini. Also, the Intel bunny suit has been seen in several other ads.

Re: Apple Intel Ad
Still, my point is I'm sure they knew about the ad, and I just forgot the guy's name.

Re: Apple Intel Ad
It wasn't so much the name that was my point; it was your referring to him as something not to unlike "some guy." Maybe they knew about the ad. I really don't know, but for the record I liked it too.
