Settling Business, old school
I've developed a new theory based on recent positioning of US forces: I now believe that the USA is going to simultaneously strike Iraq, Iran, and North Korea.
My theory is based on the following events:
1. the US currently has five carrier task groups in the gulf region. If the goal were simply Iraq, then five carrier groups would be considered overkill, even by the Powell doctrine of overwhelming force.
2. Heavy bombers, mainly B-52, and B-1B's, have been deployed in Japan.
I predict that almost to the second, the glorious three front battle will commence. Iraq and Iran will be the typicall stikes we've all seen before, but North Korea should prove interesting. Bomber groups will flame out the North Korean front lines with a massive napalm barrage( I'm talking the whole of the DMZ, baby), leaving a simple mopping up( almost literally) operation for US and South Korean forces. At the same time, the US will strike all suspect facilities in North Korea.
After the glorious battle, China and Russia will introduce a new resolution to the UN, allowing allied forces into North Korea to perform humanitarian work, and also ensure the integrity of the North Korean borders while the transition occurs.

You also hope that this theory will be the truth? No way it will be as easy you discribe.

Wow that entire statemend is nothing but drivel, pure Drivel.
So we will attack Iran, an a nation that has seen a swweeping cultural change over the last decade, with semi-pro west atitudes in the population, not necicarilly an attitude liked by the government, which of itself poses no threat what-so-ever.
How bout Korea? A starving nation that would not hesitate to Nuke Tokyo, one of the Densest, most modern cites in the world? What possible reason could we have for basing planes there? Maybe because we have always done that? Don't forget the Large amount of people who live Very close to the DMZ on both sides...
And those 5 carrier groups? Has nothing to do with the Defence of Kuwait? Or the fact that we need to cover ALL of Iraq? No...
We Americans live in a nation where the medical-care system is second to none in the world, unless you count maybe 25 or 30 little scuzzball countries like Scotland that we could vaporize in seconds if we felt like it.

Of course it's drivel, it's BestBuy/CompUSA, resident troll since April 2001. Ignore him. In his 600+ posts (500+ as CompUSA) I doubt there's been more than a small handfull that actually were worth thinking about; the rest are all, as you state, drivel.

Re: Settling Business, old school
it's BestBuy/CompUSA
This routine is getting old. I make a thoughful post, or perhaps start an interesting new thread, and king fred quickly follows up with a post warning the forum goers not to read my theories or browse through my assorted literature on this forum. Experts agree that the forum goers deserve the right to read my prose free from harassment by king fred, thus allowing the readers the opportunity to decide for themselves the merit of my doctrine.
king fred, you're always following me. You're remind me of a bad act following a virtuoso performance, and you're simply hurting yourself. My view is that you might want to start following a lesser forum goer, perhaps brat boy. That way you'll come across as an intelligent person.

Oddly, I must side with Best Buy here. Don't be jerks guys, there's nothing trollish about this post.

Note I did say: "...I doubt there's been more than a small handfull that actually were worth thinking about" which means I acknowledge he's managed to grovel above his typical trollish level on a FEW RARE occasions. So I wasn't being 100% nasty.

I don't, in fact I find this thread rather offensive and disgusting. Fully trollish.

Thanks, NB, for the support. I know that in recent days you've supported the fundamental merits of several of my threads, and have taken lots of heat as a result.
Back to the topic:
My thought is that the DMZ has actually weakened greatly on the North Korean side over the last two years. Moral is low, and concentrated bombing in the region would result in disorientation on the part of the North Korean army. If done correctly, I predict a 15% loss in US aircraft.

How do you estimate this? Do you have specs on the NK SAM defences? Their stategy? And why would we want to bomb the DMZ anyway? So we can blow up all the mines?
You leave many holes Bestbuy.

My theory is based on the fact that most of NK's forces are concentrated above the DMZ. Fast and overwhelming strikes in this vicinity would incapacitate the majority of NK forces. The key is to remove NK's heavy artillery quickly so that Seol is unthreatened.

Re: Settling Business, old school
I think if any nation created a ICBM named Long-Dong we'd have to surrender to them, simply out of their superior coolness.

The thought of a two front war, Iraq and NK, has indeed crossed my mind. If done properly it might avoid later problems dealing with NK's nukes. If not I shudder to think of the implications.
