Long Time No Post
I havent checked the forums latley, glad to see the Ghr Div is still arround! It looks like we will probably be getting a broadband connection soon, so I hope to get to play soon. I also got a 20 inch imac G5, with the x600xt PCIe and it completly chews up and spits out recon with all the graphic settings at max. It aslo easily handels UT2004 with blazing FPS as well. In games that have antialias settings, it can easily handle 2x levels.
I guess I will have to change my gametag eventualy, PBG4 doesnt quite work anymore, and it is kind of lame, guess I will have to come up with something.

Yeah the forum is still around but the Div is mothballed. Few of us are still up for playing sometimes. Gratz on the broadband, I bet thats really gonna give your online gaming a shot in the arm. Post when you are able to play and then we can set something up

Re: Long Time No Post
I am hoping we will be set up in the next week or two. My dad is still, deciding between Cable, or DSL. We can get basic DSL from Verizon for 14 bucks now, but I am hoping for something better than that, espeicaly if I want host any games, but even 768k dsl is better than nothing. We will eventualy get a FIOS hook up, but we will definatly get something in the meantime.
The iMac G5 is sick, I have been playing alot of UT04, and it runs great even in a 32 player bot match, and with all the GFX settings at max. It would be nice to have 256mb+ of VRAM, but it handles runs everyting more than a year old very well.

Re: Long Time No Post
If you want to host you are gonna need good upload. Most of those bargain plans only give you 128kb or less upload which is just enough to host maybe 3-5 max. Why you will see a bunch of under 8 person servers is because ppl get the bargain lines then realize later they wish they had paid a lil more for better upload. That and ppl are trying to host on cable lines which get good download but weaker upload. My line is a 3000/768 (roughly 315KB down, 80-90KB up) setup and I can host 16-20 easily.

Re: Long Time No Post
Oh btw, Nimoy, I finally played GR2. Man if the PS2/GC version is much worse than the Xbox one then wow, they really must have ruined it. GR2 is ok, its not the best i've played. You can tell its a renewed original GR engine tho by some of the effects you see in the world. It does seem Ubisoft tried to go along with the SOCOM approach a lil too much on the gameplay. Took away a lot of what made Recon, the game of the year game that it is. Still, think I will try to pick up Summit Strike sometime if I see it on sale.

Re: Long Time No Post
GhR 3 doesn't seem like the same game at all as GhR 1, but I still think it'll be fun.
