None of you guys really exist.
I'm playing some kinda awkward text-based computer game.
It's really frustrating. No matter how much I try, I can't get fido to give me a hallelujah!

There are no hallelujahs until you repent of your self-crotch-licking ways!

No.
LOOK for motorcyclists. So often you will hear that a driver "never saw" the motorcyclist that they hit. As surprising as it may seem that you wouldn't see a vehicle, even if you looked right at it, a surprising study by Dr. Arien Mack shows that it is a real phenomenon.

Any more disturbing than the discussion earlier about getting it on with your own gender-reversed clone?

Heck, that's essentially what God did when He created Adam.
Eve's of his rib, right?
Adam was smurfing his clone.

Re: Anyone here believe in God?
I believe in God the Creator. I don't know this being's name; I suspect that a full understanding of what he/she/it is is far beyond human comprehension. Some refer to it as a Father figure and call him Jehovah or Yahweh or Allah. Some refer to it as a Mother figure and call her Goddess or Earth Mother or Gaia. There are many names, but I believe they are all one and the same.
I know God exists because of my faith; my faith is reinforced every day by things I see and feel and hear and touch. There is a Great Design to the universe, and it manifests itself in things we take for granted every day -- every minute --
laughter.
rain.
love.
music.
and many other ways too numerous to mention here.
Have you ever seen a spectacular sunrise or sunset that gave you a magical feeling inside? That's God.
How many pieces of music do you know that send an orgasmic-like shiver up your spine, no matter how many times you hear it? That's God.
How do you explain that the joyous laughter of a child never fails to warm many hearts who hear it? That's God.
I don't confuse faith with religion. Religion, while well-intentioned, is inherently flawed. I do believe there is much wisdom in religious texts, though.
I believe in "prophets" -- those who have manifested throughout history with a powerful understanding of God the Creator and the ability to share their wisdom with the masses. I'm referring mostly to Jesus and Mohammed (because those are the only two I know, off the top of my head), but I'm sure there have been many others in many other cultures.
I know my Creator through my own intimate relationship. I thank God often for the blessings in my life. I try not to ask for much, aside from wisdom and guidance for my family. I pray for the safety of those in harm's way, and I pray for comfort for those in pain. I don't believe in praying for material items or for deliverance from worldly situations (like debt or homelessness), because I don't believe God works that way. I believe there is a reason everyone goes through the trials and tribulations that each of us does --vsome for the better, some for the worse. I believe the phrase "that which does not kill you only serves to make you stronger" is divinely-inspired wisdom.
I could go on and on about my personal beliefs. I do consider myself a Christian, since I believe in the teachings of Jesus. But I am not a Bible literalist...I think it has been corrupted too much by Man over the years. Again, it's a great book of wisdom in many respects, but it is also a source of fear an disinformation about others.
OK, I'll stop now.
EDIT: moved a phrase for clarity

Even though I don't believe in God, I'm glad to see that most people who have written about their religion believe in their own way, rather than what priests and the Bible dictate. It's nice to see people think for themselves.

Good point. And also the fact that if Adam and Eve were the only humans alive until they reproduced, that would mean that in order to populate the earth, there would have to be incest...

Re: Anyone here believe in God?
Sure, but I can buy that.
And depending upon the evolutionary view one buys into, that shouldn't be so far-fetched, either.
I think what we view as "filthy, nasty incest" was necessary for species survival be it 6,000 years ago in a Creationist's timeline or 2 million years ago when homo habilis was said to have been stompin' around. That in the evolutionary process that enough of a human society sample would've successfully developed for breeding would be pushing it. Incest was necessary. In either worldview.
That's probably why we have random genetic anomalies that can't be explained by anything else.

The people you are talking about are a small, bias sample of the population. This is a computer forum, more specifically a Macintosh forum. People of which are known for their out-of-the-box thinking.
I've met plenty of bible literalists, they have taken quite a bit of my faith in humanity as they're beliefs are no more advanced than people that lived a thousand years ago.

Re: Anyone here believe in God?
I did. I have lost my faith.
Much in the same way that many believers can tell you when they were saved, I can tell you that I came to my current conclusion about three months ago. Maybe one day I'll write about it, but this isn't the time.
