That's one question that will never be answered, and the one thing that I've picked up throughout
my life, is to respect others ideas weather they conflict with mine or make fun of mine.
The only thing that I can really do is voice my opinion and hope that they have the same respect
for me and my thoughts as I do theirs.

Re: Anyone here believe in God?

It was easy to prove that the earth was round. It's not very easy to prove that there is or isn't a supreme being that is outside our realm of existence. This is something that will stay in the realm of belief, not proving or disproving a hypothesis by scientific means. You can put forth convincing arguments, but you can't really prove it.

It is easy to prove that there are many things so difficult to prove that it is easy to think of God or a higher power as the reason behind it (the beginning of the Big Bang, for instance).

I believe in God, but not in that you have to believe in God and be perfect to get into heaven. You just have to be a genuinely good dude. This lets everyone in on it without having to believe in it, which means either I'm right, I'm ending up in Hell for being an "infidel", I will be reincarnated as a lamp post because of bad karma, or I will simply cease to exist after this life.

I put my odds as good in the afterlife.

LOOK for motorcyclists. So often you will hear that a driver "never saw" the motorcyclist that they hit. As surprising as it may seem that you wouldn't see a vehicle, even if you looked right at it, a surprising study by Dr. Arien Mack shows that it is a real phenomenon.

Actually, no. Since the dawn of man we have known that the earth is round. It was just a core group of people at a Church that kept saying the world was flat in order to scare people into hanging around.

Same story here.
There is a group of people that believes something that we need to either prove or disprove.

Re: Anyone here believe in God?

Eh, no. It's more of a universal wondering. It's not a wunderin' of a Christian God, and only That, but that of if a Higher Power exists.

If you put it that way.
I'm almost totally sure a "higher power" exists.
The question is, is it friend or foe? Or does it care about us at all?

I do not believe in god, the three letter excuse for anything and everything.

Including killing, raping, maiming, castration, torture, instinctual prejudice, and all things unsavory.

One may say that I am an adamant atheist.

We may actually create a supreme being for ourselves if we keep imagining better and better reasons for there to be one.

The Noodlely One is most frequently depiced with meat balls! Thus showing divine endorsment of meat dishes! (or at least the approval of the followers of the FSM)

Re: Anyone here believe in God?

George Carlin says it best:

"In the Bulls&^t Department, a businessman can't hold a candle to a clergyman. 'Cause I gotta tell you the truth, folks. When it comes to bullsmurf, big-time, major league bullsmurf, you have to stand in awe of the all-time champion of false promises and exaggerated claims: religion. No contest. No contest. Religion. Religion easily has the greatest bulls%^t story ever told.
Think about it. Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man -- living in the sky -- who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time!
     But He loves you.
He loves you, and He needs money! He always needs money! He's all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can't handle money! Religion takes in billions of dollars, they pay no taxes, and they always need a little more. Now, you talk about a good bulls%^t story. Holy S^&t!"

Actually, we're all avoiding the really hard question: WHY do you believe what you believe?
No matter the answer, it's still a faith statement
