OK - in all seriousness, people generally don't like animal sex because it is sick and twisted. Not because christians say so, because society says so.

Not sure how it can be consensual either, unless you are Dr. Doolittle.

There you go. That's the big issue here.

And, analogous to sex with minors, even in the case of Dr. Doolittle, to the letter of the law there can be no consent from the animal, since that would require the animal to be legally able to give consent, first.

There are excuses beyond mere pleasure for those things, however lame they may seem to some: thinning the herd, food, damage done by animals, etc.

It's not as if I stated that animals have the same rights as humans, is it?

With fishing, I think catch and release is better - especially if you live downstream from a refinery

Actually, animals do have rights in nearly every state. You can be taken to court and fined or jailed if convicted of abusing an animal. Try watching "Animal Cops" on Animal Planet sometime.

As for emotions, most of the animals that get abused are mammals. Most mammals have been proven to experience emotions in some form. There have been several studies of higher order mammals like apes, dolphins, elephants, etc. and having been a pet owner for years, I can tell you that dogs and cats have them as well. I would say that you would have to be a retard to not get this, but most intellectually challenged people intuitively understand this as well. I'm left with "you would have to be some kind of cold-hearted freak to not get this" - which I think covers someone who would abuse an animal pretty well.

Seriously, you can tell by looking at an animal whether it has been abused or not. I've seen the difference abuse, or on the other extreme, spoilage can make in the personality of an animal.

So, if you want to get it on with an inanimate object (like a sex doll or toaster), go for it - but keep your hands OFF the animals and the children.

It's not illegal to have virtual child erotica, according to the Supreme Court. That includes depictions as well as inanimate objects like dolls. But, I'm sure it's illegal for such things to be made available for children to see.

Pedophilia involves sexual attraction to pre-pubescent children, not sexually functional adolescents. Even a 12 year old can be an adolescent. I first orgasmed at age 11. But, most countries have an age of consent of 16. A few, like Iceland, have it set at 14, which I think is more appropriate. I had a huge sex drive at 14 and if I had had voluntary sex with an 18 year old, it wouldn't have been a crime. Iceland requires parental notification from possible partners (hetero or homo), bans gifts, and has several other restrictions (such as a curfew, I believe), restrictions that are lifted when the minor is 16. I think their system is generally sensible, because it doesn't criminalize consenting sexual behavior, but also gives the parents legal authority. The unfortunate aspect of having an age of consent set prior to full mental maturity (around age 22) is that the rationality of immature brains can lead to problems such as unwanted pregnancy and STD infection. Legal or not, though, teens will have sex. Their partners, if it's consensual, shouldn't end up in jail.

Pedophilia is not acceptable in any form other than virtual. I'd much rather have people use dolls and drawings than abuse children.
