How do I share iCAL between several different users?

As the admin of my computer I would like to allow my other "users" to share iCAL for schedules of the day to day events and allow all to post new appointments etc.

How can i set that up without buying or paying for a dot mac type of account?

Well the only way without .Mac is to set up two calendars, one on each computer, and share them. So basically, each computer can read and write one calendar and only read the other. You then have to manually sync them.

Yes, this is stupid. If you can't justify buying .mac (there are lots of reasons to get it but there are also several reasons not to get it) then I would look for another program (can't think of one off the top of my head except for entourage).

I really want an iCal update!
Simple stuff, like setting a default due date for to do items is not possible.
I love it because it is an elegant, light calendar program, the best availiable.
However, when's the last time it was updated?
Is it like iChat, going along with big cat revisions?
