Banned: XYZ
XYZ: Banned for a pattern of breaking rules and refusing to change when cautioned as well as for continual breaking of the DBAJ rule.
Banned - 16 March 2006
Ban Expires - Does not expire
XYZ has been banned, and it's permanant this time.
Time and time again, XYZ has shown that he believes that he is above the rules. He breaks a rules, one mod or another calls him on it, and he promptly ignores them. If they take any further action, such as locking the thread he's breaking the rules in, instead of admitting that he's wrong or agreeing to change his behavior he immediately runs to FFF to vilify the person who is trying to correct him.
This latest instance should not have escalated to the point that he could be banned. There's a rule in MiniThink that in essence says "no plagiarism." It's posted, it's clear. Hell, there's even a definition of plagiarism included so there can be no doubt. The long and the short of it is that you if you cut and paste a quote, include a link to where you got it.
XYZ doesn't like doing that. After three tries to get a simple link, I locked the thread.
His response was not to take responsibility about it but to post threads placing blame everywhere but on himself both in Circuit Board and in FFF.
He's not willing to change his behavior, he's not even willing to admit he's wrong. He points fingers at everyone else and does nothing about his own behavior.
Then NAG locked his topic. Instead of accepting that, he spammed the forums again with three more topics, the final one not being finally locked until after he was banned.
- A lie about me posting at another forum by XYZ
- Are posters free to troll me? Is there no moderation anymore? by XYZ
- Answer the question. by XYZ
- Quit abusing your mod power, NAG by XYZ
There's hardly a poster in MiniThink who hasn't been libeled by XYZ; it's to the point that "homophobe" has become an in-joke. His bad attitude, his consistant crusade against anyone who has any opinion other than exactly his own opinion, his refusal to remain civil; all break the DBAJ rule to the extent that we suspect that there are people who have even left the forums to escape him.
He's never going to accept that he has to follow the rules just as everyone else, he'll always try to turn it back on the or anyone else who happens to be there. As such, he's no longer welcome here.

damn you fido, you beat me.
I still believe in liberalism today as much as I ever did, but, oh, there was a happy time when I believed in liberals.

And damn you, oatmeal. I had a beautifully crafted full rant ready for the next time he posted one of his "being male is inherently disordered, but it can be gotten over" bullsmurf ideas.

DAMMIT!
Really, though. Quips like that will surely be missed.
Sort of.
Meh, okay. Not really.

I haven't had the pleasure of trying that one, so i went to the site. I do hope they did a better job with the vintages than the site.

I would remind people that other MAF members have been warned of unacceptable activities. Some people have taken these warnings to heart and some may not have.
