Well, as long as you're in SETI@Home, I'll let you say it all you want, assuming it has to do with space aliens.
This, I think, could lead to some interesting posts.

I honestly hope you got that it was just an old saying that basically means if makes you feel guilty enough to question how appropriate it is then it's probably not appropriate.
And the only people with the right to call me a homophobe are those who start humping my leg without my blessing.

Yeah, sorry about that too. I get a bit defensive when I experience unblessed leg humping. I'm tempted to say "There was a reason I said to bring the Pope with you if plan to try."

Re: Banned: XYZ
oh... sorry. I know what SETI is. It's like Jodi Foster in "Contact." One time I was having sex... or rather I was trying to close my eyes and think about something else so that I didn't have to remember I was actually in bed with this horrendous mess and when he finally realized things weren't working out I exclaimed that I was still high from the club and our ecstasy and that I thought I was Jodi Foster in "Contact" and that he was an alien. Well... I don't think he got it really.

Are you thinking of James Bond?
In Contact, I don't think the dish was actually buried.

Aricebo is built into the ground - I think they dug out the top of a hill or something.

Re: Banned: XYZ
Yes, Aricebo's at the movie's beginning when Jodi meets Matt (drewl!). Aricebo is in the mountainous interior of Puerto Rico to the west of San Juan. Look out for scrawny chickens and rabid dogs on the road!
I don't know where the vast array later on is... I'm guessing in the West. I've been to the place in West Virginia where there are a lot of dishes but am just assuming that is still there as it was probably in the 70's. Not sure but I recall it being one of the earliest places like that.
I'm not a science geek like most of you. SORRY. Can't wear Prada at a science fair!

Re: Banned: XYZ
I'm sure there were more than enough legitimate reasons for banning him, but I thought the whole "link" thing was silly.
It wasn't "plagiarism." He wasn't claiming that he wrote it himself. Perhaps he should have reposted the link from the previous thread, but it doesn't make any sense to label it as "plagiarism."

Yes, it was. It should NEVER have escalated to anything more than "sure, this is the link." But just like every interaction with him, it had to become a pissing contest. He couldn't just do it, he had to make it out that someone was out to get him no matter what was going on.

I know that... but I thought bedstuy meant buried IN the ground. In Bond, I thought they had it secretly hidden under a lake or a bunker or something (I could be remembering wrong).
