Startup shortcuts?
Anyone know where I can find a list of keyboard shortcuts for Windows XP? I'm particularly interested in startup shortcuts like how to boot into single-user mode.
Thanks.

Re: Startup shortcuts?
Welp, probably doesn't give you all you want to know:
http://www.ultratech-llc.com/KB/?File=/kbshortcuts.txt
But since no-one else was posting I thought I would. Its a collection of linke to sites that list KB SHortcuts. And its a bit out of date (UltraTech is updated by a single person - so it happens)
You might consider writing some scripts (.bat files) and simply dropping shortcuts onto your desktop. Not a key board shortcut, but close.

Re: Startup shortcuts?
There's no single user mode. Just safe mode. I think you hold down either f5 or f8, but I don't remember which so I usually just hold them both, or whatever.

What does safe mode do exactly?
It's not what OSX calls safe mode is it?

Safe Mode to Windows is what booting with extensions off is to Macs.
Just starts the machine with the bare min. to get it going.

OK, thanks.
Makes no sense to have a DOS when you can only use it from a terminal.

Re: Startup shortcuts?
I just noticed Mr. happypants' wiki link.
For example, on the Microsoft Windows operating system the user can choose to boot to the command console, a small text-based troubleshooting mode kept separate from the main operating system (and can also be accessed by booting the install CD), or to various "safe mode" options that run the dysfunctional operating system but with features such as video drivers and networking disabled.
Does this mean I can access a text interface by holding F8?

Maybe...some of my Dells can, other can't/won't w/o the XP CD.
Hold F8 if you see 'Command Console' then you're in luck.
