Making Spaceships From Aspirin Bottles and Toilet items Part 3
Part 3 of my "Making Spaceships From Aspirin Bottles and Toilet Items" is up for those who read part 1 and 2 (posted here previously):
http://www.lyzrdstomp.com/index.php?opt … p;Itemid=1
It's all about making original science fiction props, vehicles and spaceships from household items (like the aforementioned aspirin bottles and toilet items).

Thats awesome. But I think he overdid some things. Its much cheaper and faster to build a 3D model then a 10,000 part monstrosity.
"After all, it's not that awful, in Italy for thirty years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, bloodshed - they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love, five hundred years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock."

Thanks for the comment.
There's something about having a physical real world model in your hands as opposed to a render from a 3D program (don't get me wrong-I love 3D (been using Lightwave for several years). But you really can put as much time into a detailed 3D model as you can a scratchbuilt/kitbashed physical model).
Besides, if you're talking about props, it's really difficult (impossible?) to composite someone carrying a 3D blaster rifle thru an entire feature-length film. Just build 'em a physical one.
I think it's the craft of the thing that makes real-world modeling appealing, not whether it's cheaper and faster.

Agreed. Very nice work!
