a little behind the powercurve....

Ok, I know this is like 3 years behind schedule, but I finally bring you the updated version of the old Lan party photo page, as promised wink. Old page vs New Page. Basically the same pics as before, + a couple other get together ones (only one I could find at the moment. If anyone has any more send them to me and Ill put them up). The link to the second lan party is up there as well. It took me a while, but I deliver as promised big_smile lol

/me tries to sneak a defibrillator into the room... sneaky

[edit] this is because I was really bored at work today and I decided to redo most of the page tongue

Re: a little behind the powercurve....

Ditto, but from SC. I loved CA when we went there on our honeymoon. I wish I could visit more often.
Don't worry about being bored, Chewie....I've been a bit depressed lately and without use of a car. Since I normally go shopping when I'm depressed, I've been hitting ebay almost all day. Yesterday, I won 7 auctions. Today, so far, only 3. The good news is I'm getting stuff we can and will use and I'm getting it cheaper than if I bought it new. The bad news is, ebay's so freaking easy it's addictive! If I could order my groceries off ebay, I would. I love having my mail lady bring me things instead of having to run out to walmart or target toting a toddler.
The new page looks great and at least you're being productive. I'm just being brain-washed and apathetic.

Re: a little behind the powercurve....

I tried WoW. I won a copy at a lan party and played for about 2 weeks. I just couldn't get into it. I have a couple of friends and I joined their group, but still...I'm just more of a shooter girl than a RPG girl. You...buying star wars stuff.....imagine that wink  I've been buying baby items and other things for my four pregnant friends. Mostly things they don't know they'll need yet or things they'll need more of than they have now like crib sheets, matress pads, changing pad covers, etc. I've not bid on anything in two days. The trouble is that my husband's getting ready to go out of town for THREE WEEKS....some training halfway across the country. I'm going to be so lonely, I'd better fill up my paypal account.

Do you have anything else better to do at night? confused I mean really - you all gotta get laid. Spendin' too much time on a computer will drive you crazy... hmm - but I sense a little attraction among some of ya all smile. Any ideas for LAN hookups?

PS: Hope I didn't offend anyone (NighCougar) w/the above comment (if I did, sorry) - just a troubling observation from a person considering buying a MAC. Tell me this isn't what MACS do to us! smile

Re: a little behind the powercurve....

This thread does not represent the sane Mac users out there tongue. Only the gamers and wierdos who shall remain forever anonymous to the geek masses under their supergeek screennames.

Re: a little behind the powercurve....

I guess some users aren't so anonymous after all. blush Although "weirdos and geeks" - what an eloquent description. Truest words are seldom other than mirrors of ourselves tongue

(Note to other MAC users: My somewhat off-color comments don't apply to you, sorry in advance for any confusion.
By the way - just a survey - on a scale of 1-10 how happy are you w/a MAC over a PC and why? After grad school I'm thinking @ getting a MAC. Any thoughts for a prospective MAC newbie?

Re: a little behind the powercurve....

Heh, a gaming thread turning into a  Mac testimonial. wink

Macs are much much less prone to viruses and such.  Macs are no more or less reliable than similarly priced higher end PCs in general.  Yeah, there are the occasional lemons amongst the Apple models.  Ask if you have one in particular picked out already.  The MacOS is a joy to use, unlike Windoze.  You'll download a tenth the number of 'critical updates' on a Mac as compares to Windoze.  I just downloaded the latest five critical patches for my work PC today. :shrug;  Otherwise, just try a Mac and see if you like it.  The window layout and controls are a bit different than Windoze.  Some people don't like it and some love it.

Re: a little behind the powercurve....

New Macs can dual boot windows and OSX also so you get the best of both worlds.
