Redlands? Chapman? Any info?

Howdy folks. Haven't stopped by here in awhile. It's been awhile. Maybe I'll recognize a few of ya.

Well, much like a lot of people on here, I too have a dilema of where to go for college. I've recieved about 25,000 in scholarships and grants a year from both University of Redlands, and Chapman University. The problem is, that still leaves 15,000 a year for me to whine over.

My other choice is my state university, where I got free tuition, but I live in alaska, and it's cold. I'd much rather go to southern California.

Does anyone have any info about either University of Redlands, or Chapman University?

I'm going into the theatre department if anyone knows anything in specific in that area.

Thanks!!

Re: Redlands? Chapman? Any info?

redlands will be hot as hell and the campus imo isn't that great, nor the rep of the school.  Plus it's in the middle of nowhere.  For sure I'd choose Chapman.  it's in a much nicer area of the state: you're right in the OC, the weather will be much better, and if you want to go to redlands and experience the heat and hick-ness, it's about 1 hour to the east, a bit north.

Redlands is close to Big Bear, though, in case you decide you miss the snow during the winter time wink (30min v 1.5hrs)

Thanks for the info. I didn't know it was that much hotter in Redlands than Chapman. I was leaning towards chapman because they have a huge film department, which I imagine will need actors to be in their student films, and will have a bigger reputation in the movie business.

goandeatsomestuff is right, chapman has a much better reputation than redlands, and from what I've heard it has really nice dorms.
