Re: Time to start bombing....and here's the first target...

Two points to make really quick: Yes, Iraq has used Chemical weapons in the past.  They were provided by us, and sold to them for the explicit purpose of killing people.  We looked on as Kurds were gassed and killed and we smiled.

Secondly, define anti-american?  During the vietnam war, being anti-american was standing up against the war, even though the AMERICAN government later refined it's views and said that the war was a mistake.  The government is supposed to follow the orders of the people, so please tell me how people organizing to show their viewpoint to the government is "anti-american"?  It is the opposite of your viewpoint, but that does not mean it is the wrong viewpoint.  To a point, even if the government is wrong and we are calling for a revolution, if it is in the spirit of creating a better america, then it is not anti-american.
You've been brainwashed by people telling you that anyone who goes against Bush's stance on anything is "anti-american," not a "patriot," or any other misnomer, and you've also been told that this is somehow wrong.  Well, this country was founded upon treason and causing uprest, and I'm sure you'd love to think about how the British would have considered Jefferson and Washington...not Patriots, that's for sure...

Could you provide a reference to this fact please?
Thank you in advance.   smile

These people seem to be placing themselves on buildings that are vital to the civilian population.  They are trying to save lives.  It is not like they are gathering around his compounds and palaces.

The US Military doesn't intentionally target civilians. If they are placing themselves on purely civilian buildings,  they are totally useless. The US wouldn't intentionally attack those anyway.

However, if Saddam had any brains, and he does, he'd simply place military hardware near the civvies. I wonder what they will do when an AA gun gets setup near their beds?

The US military may not currently (Hiroshima) have a policy of targeting civilians... but in the past (Korea and Vietnam), individual soldiers have done such horrible acts...

Although I am deeply concerned with the possibility of war... I would have to say that being an American and moving to Baghdad is one of the most idiotic things I can think of...
