so anyways i'm plugging my iPod into my computer and iTunes won't find it at all....my bros can plug into mine and they find it fine just mine wont...not only that every single song on my iPod is gone! anyone know whats up with it?

Does it show up in System Profiler or Disk Utility? Can you reset it from the iPod software updater that is also likely stored in your Utilities folder?

I am in the same situation with my shuffle. It does not show up in the system profiler or the disk utility. The iPod updater does not recognize that it is connected. But yet it shows on the shuffle itself that it is syncing up. Any ideas?

Did you try resetting the ipod? You gotta force it into disk mode if that doesn't help. If by then the Updater won't see it and no other computer will see it, it's busted.

how do I reset my shuffle? Or how do I force it into disc mode?
