I can top that. There are numerous stores in this area, not to mention countless numbers of stores in a 60 mile radius. I also have the Apple Company Store 15 minutes from here, and there's only one of those.

He does have a say in where stores go though.  There are not many cities that have stores in the actual city - Minneapolis is a good example.  The MoA is really in Bloomington, which is no where near the Downtown area of Minneapolis.

I know that Apple is planning/wants to open a store in Boston, down Boylston Street. They are negotiating "the look" as the neighborhood committee needs to approve it and to do so the store needs to fit in with the historic architecture of the neighborhood. They may or may not be able to do so to the satisfaction of the neighborhood, and if not, no Apple Store. Hardly Steve's fault and I'm sure this is not a unique situation as nanny and others have already pointed out.

My nearest Apple store is on the outskirts of Toronto, 700km away.

HEY! You can't count non-Apple stores!

If i counted non Apple stores, there'd be like a million!

5th largest city in the US and no Apple store presence downtown.

After the kidnapper proves to me that the gun is loaded to convince me to get into the car to go to Philly, I'll know that there isn't an Apple store downtown.
