You don't think Dems run on a moral policy?
They do to some extent but generally not with a cross in one hand and brimstone in the other.
Ahh, morality is ok as long as religion isn't mentioned.

They are all the same. I remember Bill Clinton on the national news walking with an oversize bible under his arm going to church on Sunday. The red bible had a huge cross one could clearly see from afar. I also remember Hillary Clinton preaching to the religious community not too long ago. Politicians may step in Congress full of good intentions, but a few years later they are just cutting deals like everyone else. We only hear about those who get caught, that's all.

Not some much on a policy of morality. Certainly they advocate for policies that they believe to be moral, but that's not what we are talking about here.

That shouldn't be hard, seeing as the "high ground" now starts at the elevation of a flea's ankles.

True dat. Although there's plenty of political hot air that, to my astonishment, people continue to buy.

So many scandals that it's hard to keep track of them, sometimes.

Yeah, and if you don't get a catchy nickname in the press, you don't get any real air/media time.

Re: Another scandal?
btw... it seems rather odd and notable that the FBI didn't similarly raid Randy "Duke" Cunningham's office seeing as how he was fiddling with defense contracts. Seems as though one would have been able to find a lot of incriminating evidence in his congressional office.
Maybe this is a new developing trend and they'll soon raid Roy Blunt, Bob Ney and Jerry Lewis.

Seems Speaker Pelosi has asked Jefferson to quit key Ways & Means committee. I wouldn't be surprised if this a signal for him to resign.

The jerk got caught reaching for a briefcase full of money? Crap, I didn't think politicians were still that blatantly stupid these days. It's just not that hard to take a bribe without being so smurfin' obvious. Look at Hillary Clinton and her "commodities trading" experience. (all winning trades before exiting the market? Nah, that wasn't a payoff...)
Signal or no - he should resign, immediately. He needs to go back to school and freshen up on "Bribes, Kickbacks, and Gratuities 101" and run again when he gets out of jail.
However, he's a democrat, so he'll probably try keep his seat, and beat the rap on this one. Only republicans resign first, then try to beat the rap.
