Installing an OS on an erased G3
Not knowing how, I attempted erase and then install 10.3 on an iMac G3. Well, I erased it allright!
Now I can't get the darned thing to do anything. There are no options for me to select. I have started it up from the install disc, and opened Disk Utility. Nothing seems to work.
I am sure it has to be formatted now, but I can't make it work. Can anybody help me?

Re: Installing an OS on an erased G3
Does the hard drive show up at all in Disk Utility? If not, then I would suspect a hardware failure/issue. Also, be sure that the drive is formatted to HFS+ instead of something else.

Re: Installing an OS on an erased G3
Instructions for formatting and reinstalling:
NOTE: If you don't want to format try the Archive and Install feature.
Restart with the Install Disc in. Hold down the "C" key during restart.
When it starts up go to the Disc Utility. Find the Volume "Macintosh HD" (or whatever you have it labeled). Not the name of the actual type of hardrive. Click the erase tab. Fire!
When it's done erasing, restart the computer and hold down C again with the disc still in. Now follow the onscreen instructions to reinstall Mac OS X.
