I rate this a 9.5 on the meh scale.
I'm also willing to bet that the dire warnings and threats that we've heard from Washington will prove to be worthless.

Clearly North Korea had not had such a bad drought as to ban the use of fireworks.
Good for them.

North Korea provoked an international crisis last night by launching six missiles. Two of them were thought to be long-range ballistic rockets capable of reaching American soil, US officials said.
Would that US territory be the Aleutian Islands ?

So very true. Press is drum beating like they did with Iraq war buildup. Some other countries nearby have much more to worry about this trial than the US. For the first time ever I emailed CNN asking them to STOP IT. Not another word. The current administration can not balance anymore foreign policy issues.

True this administration has trouble balancing one foreign policy issue.

Nah. Those folks are low on the list of countries deserving of liberatin'. And by an astonishing coincidence the countries deservin' of liberatin' happen to have lots of oil.
Burma and North Korea ... what do they have? Nuthin. Let 'em have their nukes. Pakistan too.

Any launch teaches the NK scientists and engineers what went wrong and what went right, that's data they can use for the next time they launch something.

I'm not so much worried about them striking the US directly. What's more of a concern is their ability to attack their neighbors, like South Korea and Japan.

If they attacked Japan or Taiwan, we could get sucked up into the conflict.

The odds of them attacking any of their neighbors is extremely remote, particularly South Korea. Most South Koreans, in fact, believe the two countries would be at peace, or even reunify, if the US would just get the hell out.
