20" Intel iMac and WoW.
Hey guys, I need a little input, as I cannto find any recommendations or benchmarks (other than the ones on Apple's website, which are generally total BS).
My new 20" iMac Intel w/256MB VCard upgrade is on the way... should be here on friday next week... I should have 1.5GB of RAM as well.
Question is, this should set me good for a while with my WoWing right? Considering I play on an original 17" PB G4 with 1.5GB of RAM, I should deffiantely see a boost in performance right?
Will I be able to run it at the native LCD resolution wihtout too big of an impact on the performance?
My 17" is fine for the most part, and thats being played at Native Resolution of 1440x900, though id say the graphics are a bit toned down.
Tahnks.

Any new mac should be plenty powerful. WoW came out two years ago. . . though Iron Forge might still stutter in front of the auction house while all the needed textures load.

Re: 20" Intel iMac and WoW.
I play on a 20" iMac G5. It stuttered like mad in Ironforge and most other capital cities with 512MB RAM, but when I maxed the RAM out at 2GB, that was no longer an issue.
Overall, though...it sure is PURRRTY.
(Of course, noticing the date of the OP, I'm sure you've figured all this out by now...)

My dualie G5 tower stuttered with 1 GB RAM. When I updated it to 3 GB IF smoothed out nicely. I still have to wait for the textures to load. So for the first several seconds other toons are mere shadows on the ground.

Yeah, the solution is to just not log your character near the ironforge auction house. Hide in a room or something so that it has time to load everything before you get to it.
