Disposing of old computers
So someone gave my wife an old Apple II 'cause they thought I'd think it was cool. What, they would'a gave me an old G4 'cept I think they suck?
Anyway now I got this thing in the garage, which brings me to the question of what to do with it. What's the current wisdom of disposing of such things? I assume the landfill is a no no, but I really don't want to pay to throw it away. Maybe North Korea might want it for a missile guidance system...
Suggestions?
If you can't say something nice, say it in Yiddish.

Re: Disposing of old computers
So I take it it is just a straight Apple ][... not a IIc or IIe?
B+W G3, 450mhz, 512mb, 2x 40Gb, DVD+/-RW, X.3.6.
Powerbook G3, 400mhz, 384mb, 40Gb, DVD-ROM, Firewire, X.3.6.
Franken-iMac G3 Blueberry, 400mhz, 64mb, 10Gb, CD-ROM, 9.2.2... SOON TO BE SOUPED UP AND RUNNING TIGER!

Am I reading this right: you could have gotten a MAC G4 but you or they think they suck? I would have been pretty happy with an old G4 (which doesn't suck).
Based on the findings of the report, my conclusion was that this idea was not a practical deterrent for reasons which at this moment must be all too obvious.
