Have a safe trip. If you get to Cameroon, you may run into a relative of mine doing medical and educational work.
Alas, Cameroon is not on the list of countries I'm hoping to visit: Senegal, Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, Togo, Sierra Leone, and Ivory Coast (if they decide to stop killing white people). Also Sao Tome & Principe. And South Africa if I'm rolling in dough.
Hm, quite a long list. Might have to trim it just a tad, eh?

Trim the ones where you'll get killed please.
I still believe in liberalism today as much as I ever did, but, oh, there was a happy time when I believed in liberals.

If I was a republican I would say to buy a gun to protect yourself.
Being an independent, I recommend the same.
Much respect for your efforts & good luck.

I was in Uganda in 1993. (Kampala, Fort Portal - made drops into Rawanda and Angola)
At least English is spoken there.
Oh, leave the locals alone in Africa.
I never had the chance to see any of South Africa.
And what I did see has left a scar in my memory.
