Dock Data

I find myself constantly changing the applications on my dock to whatever I am currently occupied with. For example, if I am working with graphics for a while, I'll throw out everything else except for my graphics apps. The same goes for coding or gaming or whatever. Does anyone know where the dock stores its information? I would like to be able to swap out different dock files based on my needs. Like, I could instantly switch between my media dock, my web dock, etc...

Re: Dock Data

I suggest using Spotlight (if you have Tiger), Butler (my personal favorite), or Quicksilver. If you want something more Dock-like, you might like DragThing which lets you have multiple docks available as tabs.

Or, he could just change tabs with the previously mentioned DragThing. tongue

Re: Dock Data

Deviant is another option that complements dock-swapping. This menubar extra allows you to swap your whole Desktop folder for another. If you keep all the files associated with a particular project in one folder this makes for an easy way to keep them handy. As you switch projects, just swap the appropriate folder to the Desktop. Combined with Exposé it is a neat solution. Not for everyone but perhaps worth a look.
